Shiva is the ultimate source of enlightenment. Shiva is known as the destroyer God because he removes all evil from the world. According to Hindu Mythology, Shiva has a blue neck as he swallowed poison to save the universe. He has three eyes; the third eye is on his forehead. Shiva lives in Mount Kailash and is one of the three main Gods in Hinduism.
He assumed human form to guide humans in the past and is thus known as Adi-guru (first Guru). All spiritual seekers aspire for his space of enlightenment. All enlightened masters live in this space of Shiva. He is the most important Hindu God for the Shaivism sect, the patron of Yogis and Brahmins, and the protector of the Vedas, the sacred texts.
